Professional Grade Write Blocking
Digital and forensics investigators, technicians, and lawyers rely upon the WiebeTech® Forensic ComboDock™ FCDv6 to view and image a data drive without altering its contents. It’s an easy-to-use dual mode dock that provides a plethora of host and drive connections and is compatible with forensic acquisition and analysis software.
Switch Between Write Blocking and Read/Write Modes
When turned on, the Forensic ComboDock FCDv6 asks you to choose either write-blocking or read/write mode. If you need to modify contents of the attached drive, switch the Forensic ComboDock into its temporary read/write mode.
Uncompromising write lock
It is impossible to accidentally deactivate the write lock. Each time you turn on the Forensic ComboDock FCDv6, you will be asked if you want to boot the system into Write-Lock mode or Read / Write mode. This will prevent you from compromising your evidence, which can happen with other blockers if you forget to switch the mode back to Write-Block.
Detect and Remove Hidden Areas
You can detect, delete, or modify Host Protected Areas (HPAs), Device Configuration Overlays (DCOs), and Accessible Max Address Configurations (AMAs) that may hide additional data on the disk under investigation. The menu on the LCD display simplifies these actions - no complicated DIP switches need to be set.
Disk information at your fingertips
The blocker provides quick access to selected important SMART data, such as operating hours, number of power cycles, and hard drive status. It can also display the model and serial number reported by the firmware of the connected drive. You can also use the free software to view this information on your computer and save it to a file for easy inclusion in the report.
Effortless Drive Connections
The Forensic ComboDock FCDv6's drive connector enables automatic alignment and easy insertion. Then attach it to your computer via its orientation-free USB-C connector.
Extensive disk support
Forensic ComboDock FCDv6 works with the most common types of hard drives and SSDs, such as IDE / PATA and SATA. However, if you need to work with a non-standard disk, various adapters are available for more flexibility.
The package includes
AC adapter and power cord
USB Type-C cable
USB-A to USB-C cable
Cable with SATA drive connector
IDE cable
Molex MiniFit on the power cable
