Since 2010, the USB Rubber Ducky has been the tool of choice for hackers, penetration testers and other IT professionals. It has evolved from an initial experimental device to automate certain tasks into a fully fledged Keystroke Injection tool. The "duck" gained its popularity mainly due to its simple scripting language, sufficiently powerful HW and its cover design.
If it works as a keyboard, it must be a keyboard!
Nearly every computing devices accepts human input from keyboards, hence the ubiquitous HID specification - or Human Interface Device. Keyboards announce themselves to computers as HID devices and are in turn automatically recognized and accepted.
Ducky Script. Simply simple.
The USB Rubber Ducky scripting language is focused on simplicity.
Writing a payload is as easy as typing in a notepad.
- Type "Hello World" using STRING Hello World.
- To pause between commands, use DELAY. For example DELAY 100 for short 100 millisecond pauses, or DELAY 1000 for longer second pauses.
- Combine the function keys ALT F4, CONTROL, ESCAPE, WINDOWS R, SHIFT, TAB. They do exactly what you would expect.
- Use REM to comment on scripts before sharing them with others.
